Elmore is a beautiful village and civil parish, located in the Stroud District of Gloucestershire. Elmore lies in the first bend of the River Severn south of Gloucester. It has a population of 178.
Despite being within a few miles of Gloucester Elmore is a quiet rural village in a farming landscape.
Elmore is one of the Severnside Villages on the ‘island’ between the Gloucester Sharpness Canal and the River Severn.
The three main routes into the village are from The Rea Bridge via Stonebench in the North East; Sellar’s Bridge at The Pilot Inn to the East and Longney in the South West. Elmore retains some of its Elizabethan houses with the remaining dwellings constructed in different periods providing an interesting variety.
