Parish Council Elections

Local Elections  –  May 2016

 There are due to be local elections at both the parish and district levels in May next year and this will include all the Elmore Parish Council seats.

Anyone wishing to stand for election or re-election and will be required to file an application with SDC.

If no more than 5 candidates are registered then all will be ‘deemed elected’ on the day of election without any formal votes being cast.

If you know of anyone who is keen to be a Councillor can you please get them to contact either the Clerk or the Chair to brief them on what would be involved.

Your vote matters so make sure you’re registered!

Ahead of the Police & Crime Commissioner for Gloucestershire election and the local government elections across the whole district, taking place on Thursday 5 May 2016, Stroud District Council is urging its residents to get involved by registering to vote.

Anyone who has changed their address or is a new voter needs to make sure that they are registered. Not being on the electoral register could also affect your credit rating.

Registering to vote is easy and can be done online by visitingwww.gov.uk/register-to-vote. Those registering will need to provide their date of birth and national insurance number.
